Obama Prepared to Become Biden Campaign Manager

Every Vote Matters - And This Guy Can Tell You Why

(FeaturedHeadlines.com) Although Barack Obama managed to win a second term in the White House, he is not so confident in the ability of his former vice president, Joe Biden, to do the same. Obama is ready to “eke it out” with Biden’s re-election campaign, having already offered a variety of assistance to his ex-running mate.

Obama regularly takes calls from Biden, as well as strategizes and advises Biden’s White House and campaign staff, according to an aide familiar with the matter. Obama has long worried that Biden could lose to Donald Trump, who is the Republican Party’s prospective 2024 presidential nominee, the aide said.

However, Biden’s performance at his State of the Union speech helped ease Obama’s concerns about his re-election odds, Democrats close to the former president reportedly said. Nevertheless, Obama believes that the 2024 presidential race will be close, according to people familiar with his thinking.

Obama intends to focus on fundraising and motivating minority voters to support Biden. Obama plans to ramp up his efforts closer to Election Day in November by speaking on college campuses and in major cities in so-called battleground states.

In the meantime, the Biden campaign intends to release content featuring the former White House duo. Obama will also join fellow former president Bill Clinton at a campaign fundraiser in New York City.

Biden, Obama, and Clinton are expected to draw in more than $25 million from the campaign event, which also features a number of celebrity guests. Tickets to attend the campaign fundraiser cost $225-$500,000. Some attendees will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken alongside the three US presidents.

Trump also used the Biden campaign’s event to raise funds for his own campaign. Trump sent out emails with “Obama is back” written in the subject line. Trump also sent a text message to supporters, urging them not to allow Obama to “spit” in their faces.

By teaming up with the Biden campaign to keep his former running mate in the White House, it appears as though Obama may have also landed himself back in Trump’s crosshairs.
