(FeaturedHeadlines.com) Political betting websites revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris is most likely to lead the Democratic ticket in the 2024 presidential elections, with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro being the most likely candidate for the vice presidency.
The Betonline puts Harris’ presidential odds at 1/9 (-900), with California Governor Gavin Newsom standing at 15/1 and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Former First Lady Michelle Obama at 16/1. These numbers essentially mean that for every $9 someone invests in Harris’s candidacy, they would get $1 in reward if she wins the nomination.
Whitmer and Obama’s number shows a gain of $15 on every $1 bet, which essentially means they are being perceived as the unlikely candidate by the bettors.
Names of some other Democratic leaders have also been floating around on the online betting marketplaces, with Gov. Shapiro at 65/1, Hillary Clinton at 80/1, and both Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg at 100/1.
Shapiro is leading the vice presidential race on betting platforms, as his odds currently stand at 7/4 on BetOnline. The same platform puts North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper’s VP odds at 3/1, Beasher’s at 5/1, Senator Mark Kelly and Buttigieg at 8/1, Wtitmer at 16/1, and Michelle at 20/1.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Newsom, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, and Clinton are also being discussed as the potential VP picks, although with negligible odds.
Biden, who consistently refused to step down as the Democratic presidential nominee, shocked the political world after unexpectedly ending his presidential campaign less than four months before the elections. The president immediately backed Kamala Harris to represent Democrats in the 2024 White House race, which led to a wave of endorsements from notable Democrats who announced to rally behind Harris.
Harris has also won the support of more than enough DNC delegates who will gather next month in Chicago to officially nominate her for the presidential race.
