(FeaturedHeadlines.com) The latest financial disclosures of Vice President Kamala Harris suggest that she received multiple gifts while serving as the second-highest official of the United States.
Harris, a long-time fan of singing sensation Beyoncé, capitalized on her popularity during her vice presidency. She received two tickets worth $1,655.92 as a gift to a Beyonce concert. She attended the concert with her husband and later posted a picture of the singer on her Instagram account.
The vice president also received football game tickets from ESPN to attend a match in Atlanta where her alma mater, Howard University, faced off against Florida A&M University. These tickets were valued at $1890 and also listed as gifts.
While Harris has been a long-time fan of Beyonce, she has never been seen on camera with the singing icon.
Harris has openly expressed her admiration for Beyonce’s music numerous times. She recently praised Beyoncé’s new country album, “Cowboy Carter,” noting that the singer remains focused despite criticism.
Harris also highlighted these characteristics of the singer during a podcast in April and reiterated her sentiments on social media. She also commended Beyonce for redefining the country genre and acknowledging its Black roots. Back in 2023, Harris also praised Beyonce’s “Break My Soul” song and branded it an empowering song for women.
She has even used Beyonce’s music to celebrate key moments in her political career, such as dancing to Beyonce’s “Before I Let Go” after ending her 2020 presidential campaign.
Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are obliged to disclose their financial affairs in accordance with the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, which aims to stop any conflict of interests.
Meanwhile, Biden’s financial disclosures did not mention any gifts. They reveal that the president has accumulated nearly $1 million in debt over the years, primarily from the mortgage on his Delaware home.
The president is also struggling to maintain his cash reserve that seems to be declining, according to the recently released records.
