(FeaturedHeadlines.com) – Biden’s Education Department received a major blow as Trump-appointed federal judge, Matthew Kacsmaryk, blocked a controversial rule that would have allowed biological males to use female facilities and participate in women’s sports.
In April, the Education Department tried to expand the scope of Title IX protections by issuing a new rule that sought to end so-called discrimination based on gender stereotypes and sexual inclinations.
According to the rule, Texas schools were forced to oblige students’ requests to get facilities that aligned with their perceived gender orientation and replace the existing law that categorizes students based on their biological sexes.
Kacsmaryk ruled that the Education Department’s law was against the very essence of Title IX and issued a preliminary injunction to stop its implementation in Texas.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton joined hands with conservative organization, America First Legal Foundation, to file the lawsuit against the Biden administration when two professors of the University of Texas complained against the controversial law.
They argued that the rule was not allowing the school to function normally as teachers were forced to use the pronouns according to the perceived genders of the students, among many other troubling things.
The judge noted that Title IX was meant to protect women in spaces that were historically reserved for males. However, the modified rule virtually allowed biological males to use women’s space, which essentially reversed the meaning of Title IX protections, Kacsmaryk added.
Meanwhile, AG Pexton celebrated the decision and slammed the Biden administration for enforcing illegal and politically-motivated rulings on states. Pexton added that he is proud to defend the state of Texas from Biden’s unlawful ambitions.
The Education Department spokesperson announced to challenge the decision, claiming that the department stands against the discrimination that students face in their everyday lives.
Just last month, another Texas judge, Reed O’Connor, appointed by former President George W Bush, issued a similar ruling and criticized the Biden administration for redefining “sex” in a way that is inconsistent with Title IX.
