(FeaturedHeadlines.com) Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump made a dramatic entry on the third day of the Republican National Convention to the backdrop of James Brown’s iconic song “It’s a Man’s World.”
With a bandage on his wounded ear, Trump entered the hall raising his fist while apparently calling “thank you everybody” to the participants.
Trump then went upstairs towards his seat right next to the Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who was also a frontline contender for Trump’s VP before he picked Ohio Senator JD Vance. Rubio, who also challenged Trump in the 2016 Republican presidential primaries, has already endorsed Trump for the 2024 White House race.
As Trump took his seat, he saw many influential Republicans, including his running mate Vance, who vowed to bring America out of the vicious cycle of “forever wars” that have caused much financial trouble for the United States over the decades. Trump is an outspoken critic of such wars and has often bragged about being the only US president in recent times to start no new global war.
Some other speakers, like Trump’s former advisor Peter Navarro, who recently completed his jail term for contempt of Congress, slammed Trump’s hush money trial judge Juan Merchan. Navarro received a warm reception from the crowd, while Trump himself later congratulated him for his release, appreciated his RNC speech, and chided Biden for pushing him into jail.
While Trump did not speak to the nation on the third day of the convention, he took center stage at the climax of the RNC on its last day and delivered a 92-minute emotional speech, during which many participants were seen crying after hearing the details of his assassination attempt.
Trump explained his shooting attempt in great detail before focusing on contemporary political and campaign issues.
Every speaker during the convention trashed President Joe Biden, who was still the Democratic presidential nominee at that time. Kamala Harris, who is now likely to lead the Democratic Party in the 2024 elections, was mostly not mentioned in the speeches.
