Racist Neighbor Shoots Hispanic Family of 7 Including 4 Kids

(FeaturedHeadlines.com) A 74-year-old man from Nebraska shot his seven Hispanic neighbors before killing himself, as police alleged that the racist nature of the man may have motivated him to attack an immigrant family.

According to the police, Billy Booth previously told his neighbors to go to their home country and “speak English.”

Reportedly, 15 people were present both outside and inside the home at the time of the shooting. Four victims were under ten years old, while three of them belonged to the age group of 22 to 43. The victims, who did not receive life-threatening injuries, are now either receiving treatment or have already been released from different medical facilities.

As the police reached the scene, they found the injured family outside the house while the suspect was found dead from the self-inflicted wound inside his residence.

The police believe that there was no immediate dispute that turned into a violent tragedy, but Booth and the Hispanic family had previously been involved in multiple fights. People aware of their relationship told the police that Booth had called the family to return to the place where they had come from and to speak English only.

Police records also suggested that Booth had the habit of engaging in arguments with every other neighbor, including the Hispanic family, over the parking. Crete Police Chief Gary Young Jr. noted that the suspect was troubled by the fast traffic and other such issues in his neighborhood, which urged him to file several police complaints.

One of the family friends of the Hispanic family, Joshua Morales, told local media outlets that he is aware of the history between the family and Booth, adding that the family consistently received threats from him to go back to their country, which makes the shooting racially motivated.

After Booth’s death, the family has decided not to escalate the matter further, although the police are now investigating the motive of the shooting.
