(FeaturedHeadlines.com) Russia bombed Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital that provides treatment to thousands of children every year, including those suffering from cancer.
Russia is on a bombing spree in multiple Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kyiv, as the latest round of missile fires killed more than 41 Ukrainians. During this assault, Russia also bombed Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital, which flattened parts of the building. Parents were seen running outside the hospital holding their children in their hands.
After the attack, locals rushed to the scene and started clearing debris. One parent, Svitlana Kravchenko, stated that she had to run with her boy in her arms as she kept on covering her child’s mouth with a cloth to help him breathe.
It remains unclear how many people died in this attack, but four people breathed their last when Russia attacked a separate medical facility, also in Kyiv.
Ukraine’s official reports suggested that the Russian hypersonic missile struck the toxicology department of the hospital, which immediately killed two people, including a doctor, and left at least 16 injured.
Russian missiles also targeted Ukraine’s electricity infrastructure and damaged grid stations, resulting in a blackout in parts of the country.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that at least five cities were targeted in the latest Russian assault that employed more than 40 different missile types. He urged the global community not to stay silent and to understand the hidden motives of Russian President Putin.
Russian missile strikes on major Ukrainian cities came just one day before the 2024 NATO summit, where multiple countries led by the US are reiterating their support for Ukraine.
As global criticism started pouring in, Russia denied responsibility for hitting the hospital and claimed that the facility was targeted by Ukraine’s own air defense missile.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, there are “multiple photos and video footage” present that show that the Ukrainian regime is itself responsible for the attack. However, military analysts believe that Russia deliberately attacked the hospital in broad daylight in order to show its military might to the world.
